Ivar Ålenius Björk (1905 - 1978) worked as a sculptor and is most famous for his busts. Today his public embellishments can be seen in many Swedish cities. Ivar Ålenius Björk designed a series of candlesticks in brass for the Swedish manufacturer “Ystad-Metall”, which closed down in 1969. The Liljan was one of these candlesticks and has since became a modern design classic that can be found in many international interiors. In collaboration with Ivar Ålenius Björk’s relatives, Skultuna has now begun production of the Liljan once more. Designed for the 1939 World’s Fair in New York.
