The leather is polished and pigmented to obtain a smooth surface with the correct color. To make it extra durable, there is a thin layer of clear varnish added to it. Each of the natural defects in the leather is clearly visible, such as scars, spots (speckling), creases and shadows, giving the leather distinctive and characteristic features.
