The family behind Max Benjamin
Max Benjamin is a family owned fragrance brand from Ireland, founded by Orla Van den Bergh together with her brothers Mark and David. It all began in the family kitchen in the scenic Wicklow Mountains, where Orla started creating her own scented candles inspired by nature and a sense of timeless elegance. The brand is named after her two sons, Max and Benjamin. Today, the siblings run the company together, with Mark leading much of the creative development and fragrance design, while David is responsible for the business and its continued growth. All products are still made in Wicklow, where craftsmanship, natural materials and family tradition are present in every scent.

Handcrafted scented candles
Max Benjamin’s scented candles are handcrafted in the family studio in Enniskerry on Ireland’s east coast. Each candle is poured using natural soy wax and fitted with a cotton wick that ensures a clean, even burn. With carefully composed fragrances and a burn time of at least 50 hours, the candles create an elegant atmosphere and fill the home with a soft and inviting scent.

ITALIAN ELEGANCE
Basilica
Cosmati was an Italian family of architects who, in the 13th century, designed beautiful mosaic floors for cathedrals. The elegant pattern of Basilica is inspired by the intricate mosaic work of the Cosmati family. Basilica’s vibrant colors, combined with its refined fragrance, evoke a sense of proximity to the sea and blooming landscapes along the Italian coast. Basilica features notes of aromatic incense and sweet flowers, with base notes of oak, leather and amber.
TIMELESS FRAGRANCE
Or Égyptien
The most cherished fragrances of ancient times originated in Egypt and included geranium, jasmine and rose, forming the foundation of Or Égyptien. The rounded shapes together with gold represent the sun, while the beautiful deep blue color of lapis lazuli symbolizes joy. Or Égyptien also includes notes of grapefruit, sandalwood, musk and caramel.
CLASSIC FRAGRANCE
Cologne Retro
In the early 19th century, the Italian Johann Maria Farina created the perfume Eau de Cologne, meaning “water from Cologne.” The fragrance became immensely popular and is today one of the oldest perfumes still in production. Cologne Retro is inspired by Cologne and features refreshing citrus notes, sweet orange blossom, neroli, petitgrain and musk.
